“IT’S THE BIBLE, ALIVE IN FRONT OF YOU.”

What is
Living Letters?
In each “Encountering” performance, there is an introduction which sets the scene and characters before the letter is performed. During the intro I interact with several members of the audience, casting them in particular roles relevant to the letter. The whole audience is invited to participate and enter into the drama by engaging their imaginations by stepping into the shoes of the original hearers so that once the letter is performed they will be hear and experience the text as the original hearers may have. The audience members are not merely spectators but are participants in the drama. Through this approach the audience “lives” the letter.

About the Artists
We want to create theatrical performances that are dynamic and powerful. Based on our Broadway experience (Stephen in Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, Juliette in Phantom of the Opera and The Fantasticks), we strive for the highest quality of every performance and that the experience will be memorable for all audiences. We seek to be faithful to God’s Word revealed in Scripture, perform at the highest level we can, and that it will be brought to life for people dynamically and powerfully. Paul’s letters are living through one-man performances.

“What a privilege to experience the Living Letters through the incredible gifts of Stephen Trafton. His engaging, and flawless presentations of both Colossians and Philippians are mesmerizing encounters with Scripture. Northland Church is extremely grateful for his unique delivery of God’s Word.”
“Encountering Philippians is one of the most powerful experiences with the Word I’ve ever had in a worship setting. This is how it was meant to be: heard aloud, aptly expressed, with conviction.”
“Stephen breathes life into Paul’s letters to the Philippians with the perfect blend of humor, warmth and joy... delivered with the utmost of sincerity, it serves as an encouraging reminder to us how through fellowship and prayer we can be agents for change.”
